Josh Seidenfeld, Partner at DLA Piper

Josh Seidenfeld is a recognized leader in digital health and life sciences law, advising innovation-driven companies on business and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on high-growth sectors including biotechnology, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, digital health, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, climate and energy technology, medical technology, open source, and software.

Josh earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside, followed by an MBA from the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business. He then completed his Juris Doctor in Business Law and Venture Capital at Santa Clara University School of Law.

Currently working at DLA Piper, Josh serves clients throughout the corporate lifecycle, from early-stage formation to public offerings. He provides strategic counsel on venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, securities compliance, and long-term corporate governance.

From 2010 to 2026, Josh practiced at Cooley LLP, where he held senior leadership roles, including serving as global chair of the firm’s digital health group and as a member of its Life Sciences Advisory Board. During this period, he built deep experience advising emerging growth and public companies in highly regulated and technology-driven industries.

Josh is recognized for his ability to guide founders, executives, and investors through high-stakes transactions. His combined legal and business training enables him to translate complex financial, regulatory, and strategic issues into practical guidance that supports sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
